About Botox
Botox Cosmetic and Dysport are the perfect solutions to treat and prevent fine lines, wrinkles, and deep facial furrows.
Both Botox and Dysport are medications injected into the muscle to reduce wrinkles caused by muscle movement. We strategically choose dosing based on your muscle mass and strength in the area of concern.
Botox and Dysport have numerous off-label uses some including treatment for neckbands, chin dimples, hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), and jawline slimming. Botox has been clinically trialed and studied more than Ibuprofen and proven to be safe and effective.
Wrinkle Relaxers
- Injection of a neuromodulator into the glabellar complex can help smooth and relax the muscles, preventing deeper lines from forming and softening the appearance.
- Vertical lines in the forehead can be reduced by injecting the large, flat frontalis muscle of the forehead. Conservative dosing is used for a refreshed appearance.
- As aging progresses, we start to notice fine lines in areas of expression. The skin around the eye is thin with little underlying fat tissue, crows feet at the corners of the eyes are often caused by laughing, smiling and squinting. Small doses are used to relax the muscle and smooth the delicate eye area.
- Facial slimming can be achieved by relaxing the overactive masseter muscle at the side of the jaw that can cause the appearance of a strong square like jaw. This treatment can also reduce teeth grinding and jaw clenching.
- Small units of neuromodulator are injected into the muscle around the mouth, the relaxation effect gives a subtle "rolling" of the lip, allowing a bit more pink to show.
- Nasalis muscle lines on the side of the nose can be treated with small amounts of neurotoxin .
Deoxycholic Acid
Deoxycholic Acid is injected to permanently dissolve fat in the treatment area.
Deoxycholic acid is a bile acid that occurs in our stomach and is responsible for breaking down fat. Results are permanent, more than one treatment is usually required.
Areas that can be treated include:
- Submental Fat (Double Chin)
- Bra Rolls
- Lower Abdomen
- Saddle Bags
Dermal Fillers
- Whether you've had volume loss from age or just want to enhance your natural lips, dermal fillers are excellent at augmenting and volumizing. We use a soft filler for natural results.
- Cheek fillers are an excellent way to enhance and reshape the face. The midface loses volume as part of the aging process, which affects structures in the lower face, by replacing volume in the cheeks, we also lift and improve symmetry of the lower face.
- As we age, we begin to lose volume, the temples suffer bone and fat loss and become hollow. Temple fillers can restore upper face fullness associated with youth and affect the appearance of other facial structures such as cheeks.
- Using the only Health Canada approved product for treating under eyes, small amounts are carefully placed using techniques to minimize bruising. Results can last up to 18 months.
- Nasolabial folds run from the corner of the nose to the corner of the mouth, as the line extends to the jawline it becomes the marionette line. Dermal fillers and a global approach to treatment are excellent ways to minimize and correct these lines.
Medical Injections
Botox for TMJ
Inflammation due to jaw clenching and grinding can lead to pain in the temporal mandibular joints, leading to headaches, jaw clicking and locking.
During your consultation with our Nurse Practitioner we will discuss treatment options to reduce pain and discomfort.
Botox for Hyperhydrhosis
Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) affects approximately 3% of the population. Overactive sweat glands lead to excessive unwanted perspiration.
Excessive sweating can be controlled by injecting the neuromodulators into the affected area.
